This book is kind of a cross between the history of User Interface, Apple, and Dr. Raskins experience of building the CAT. It mixes in some some of the principals of psychology but I would not read this book if you are looking for information on that topic. There are much better books for that. This is an older book so some of the subjects have been superseded by newer information.

Topics:

  • Locus of Attention
  • Modes
  • Quantification
  • Uniformity
  • Navigation
  • Issues outside of User Interface

Audience: You are interested in the history of Apple, from a different viewpoint then Steve Jobs.

Avoid if: Wanting to learn most of the principals of UX.
